Patrick Beverley Isn’t Ready To Call Denver Nuggets’ Star Nikola Jokic The Best Center Yet

In this story:
During the early days, people had conversations about the greatest point guards and even small forwards.
But now, we’ve entered an era of basketball where centers take the headlines.
The center every sports fan is currently talking about is Denver Nuggets’ star Nikola Jokic. He played a major role in the Nuggets’ first ever NBA championship when they defeated the Miami Heat in the Finals.
In the series, he averaged 30 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists, ultimately receiving the Finals MVP award. He also became the first player in history to lead the playoffs in points, rebounds and assists.
But not everyone seemed to be impressed.
On a recent episode of Patrick Beverley’s Pat Bev Pod, Beverley recalled a conversation he had regarding the centers in the NBA.
Patrick Beverley says Karl-Anthony Towns is the best big man in the NBA:

"When it comes to like offensively gifted players... it's KAT and it's James Harden and I think I got KAT one... I've been around this motherf*cker."
Thoughts?

“I have my personal intake of who I think is the best five man is,” Beverley said. “The conversation was ‘Pat, you played with Kat, you played against Embiid, you played against Joker. Who do you think the best man is?’ And I go, ‘Y’all not gonna like my answer.’
His answer was simple.
“Kat. My man, when it comes to like offensively gifted players. I say, man, Trev, it’s two people, bro. It’s Kat and it’s James Harden. And I got Kat one.”
Maybe he chose Karl-Anthony Towns because of the relationship they formed when he played on the Minnesota Timberwolves. Or maybe it’s a way of trolling social media again. Regardless, a lot of fans are going to argue his take.
Sure, Towns is in the conversation of greatest centers. He can get into the paint for rebounds and hit 3-pointers at a good rate.
But to call him the best center right now might be a stretch.
