Tyler Herro Unphased By Struggles In Miami Heat’s Regular Season Opener

In this story:
Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro is off to a slow start in the regular season after a lackluster performance against the Detroit Pistons.
Herro scored 16 points along with two rebounds and three assists on 29.2 percent shooting. Despite the offensive struggles, Herro made up for it on the defensive end with high intensity, leading to three steals.
The Heat are preparing for a three-game road trip where they will take on the championship-contending Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks.
“It's always good you know in the home opener to get the win. We’d rather start 1-0 than 0-1, especially before this tough road trip we’re going on,” Herro said postgame. “So it's good to get the win; obviously some things we can clean up, but good win.”
If the Heat hope to compete against teams such as the Bucks and Celtics, Herro’s consistency is key. Allowing All-Star center Bam Adebayo to focus on the defensive side of the ball is crucial to Miami’s success.
“I felt comfortable, I just missed some shots. I probably haven't shot like that in months, but it's a part of the game. I was really excited to get out here tonight, Herro said. “Playing first game since April, since I got hurt, so just excited to be out here. I’ll be good.”
Herro sustained a broken hand last year, leaving him sidelined for the majority of the postseason. After his name swirled in trade rumors for the second straight offseason, he is looking forward to the rest of the season.
