Western Conference Recaps, May 2: Anthony Davis Led The Los Angeles Lakers To A Victory Against Golden State Warriors

NBA pundits are so used to seeing LeBron James do it all against the Golden State Warriors but he now has help.
The Los Angeles Lakers relied on Anthony Davis to lead them to a 117-112 victory against the Warriors, taking a 1-0 series lead. Davis recorded 30 points, 23 rebounds and four blocks as he completely dominated the Warriors.
James had 22 points and 11 rebounds but his point total was the third-fewest he ever scored in 23 playoff games against the Warriors. D’Angelo Russell had 19 points while Dennis Schroder led the bench with 19.
"We’ve been playing playoff basketball for about 2 1/2 months now just to punch our clock to be able to play right now in the postseason," James said. “We were very resilient tonight. ... We know how great they are on their home floor, so to withstand that, it’s another good step for our ballclub.”
Stephen Curry wasn’t able to duplicate his 50-point performance he had against the Sacramento Kings. He scored 27 points to lead the Warriors while Klay Thompson had 25 points. Andrew Wiggins scored 15 points and Jordan Poole led all reserves with 21 while hitting six 3-pointers.
Kevon Looney is having arguably his best playoff run of his career. Leading the NBA in rebounds in the playoffs, he recorded a career-high 23 with 13 of them in the first half. He became the first player with four 20-plus rebound games in the playoffs since Dwight Howard in 2009.
