In this story:

Michael Scotto of Hoopshype reported that the Charlotte Hornets are "Strong Considering" an offer sheet to Celtics restricted free agent Grant Williams.

Williams is strong, defensive minded power forward who was in and out of the Celtics rotation this past season. He's an excellent post and switch defender, gaining notoriety for guarding Giannis Antetokounmpo in the the 2022 Eastern Conference Finals. Offensively, Williams main strength is his reliability as a three point shooter, averaging 40% over his past three seasons. Williams is also an excellent passer, although was limited in what he was able to show in a narrowly defined role in Boston.

Despite being only 24 years old, Williams is renowned for being a vocal leader on and off the floor. Mitch Kupchak mentioned in his post draft media availability the team were looking for some leadership who would be able to play night in night out.

Scotto also reported that Charlotte remain in discussions with restricted free agent PJ Washington. It is unlikely the Hornets would pursue both Williams and Washington unless they decided to let Miles Bridges go in free agency.
