GAME PREVIEW: In Charlotte's last home game of the season they welcome back former Bobcats assistant coach Stephen Silas for the first time since the passing of his father Paul Silas. Expect this to be an emotional evening for Stephen who has endured a challenging year coaching the 20-60 Houston Rockets. However, Rockets fans will be hoping the misery continues for the last two games as they battle the Spurs (20-60) for the second best lottery odds in the Wembanyama sweep stakes. Will Houston sit their best players in order to try and cement a loss to a young, inexperienced Charlotte team? It wouldn't surprise me, the Rockets have been actively tanking the hardest of any team in the NBA all season.
KEY MATCHUP: Gerald Green vs Svi Mykhailuk
That's right, Svi Mykhailuk who at one point was considered a throw in as part of the McDaniels trade has emerged into Charlotte's best offensive option in recent weeks. Over the last 7 games Mykhailuk has taken full advantage of the opportunity, averaging 16pts 4reb 5ast 1.3stl on FG 50% 3P 43%. Mykhailuk will have his hands full on defense guarding Houston's athletic scoring guard Jalen Green who is coming off a 32 point game against Denver. Charlotte will need to make sure they execute their defensive coverages well or else Green will get to the rim and draw fouls at will.
