Collin Sexton Takes to Twitter to Send Message to Jazz

In this story:
Utah Jazz point guard Collin Sexton took time out to tweet an end-of-the-season message to fans and teammates last week. Despite being sidelined due to a lingering hamstring post-All-Star break, the first-year Jazzman had a positive outlook for next season.
“Thanks to my teammates, coaches, and the organization for a great season,” Sexton tweeted. “I would also like to thank the Utah Jazz Fans for supporting us night in and night out. Looking forward to next season."

When available, Sexton contributed admirably on the court, scoring 14.2 ppg while dishing out 2.9 assists. But injuries have been a recurring theme for him, as he missed a total of 34 games which followed a season where he only participated in 11 contests.
In Sexton's absence, the emergence of Talen Horton-Tucker and Kris Dunn created more questions than answers regarding the starting point guard position next year. Horton-Tucker is the most explosive player of the trio, posting 41 and 37-point performances this season as a starter.
But with eyes on making the playoffs next season, Utah may want a starting point guard with more experience. Also, 'THT' can opt out of his contract this season, becoming an unrestricted free agent.
Dunn is the most natural fit at the one while being the best on-ball defender, but at 29 years old, is there room to grow? Dunn recently signed a non-guaranteed contract that runs through 2024.
With $32 million in cap space, the Jazz could opt to sign a free agent or use their stockpile of first-round draft picks to bring in a starting point guard via trade. No matter what route the Jazz brain trust decides to take, Sexton’s path to contributing next year could be coming off the bench.
With Jordan Clarkson's future in Salt Lake City hanging in the balance, there may be a need for a player that can create offense when the starters are resting. This is where Sexton has thrived in his career, scoring in bunches without the help of other players breaking down a defense.
Although Sexton’s role in year two with Utah is unclear, the veteran appears to have a grip on the task on hand this offseason. Sexton elaborated in his post-season press conference.
“Just continue to grow, continue to watch a lot of film, and just continue to get better at things that I need to improve on, and come back next year ready to go, and be a really good playmaker, which I have shown and know I can do for this team,” Sexton said. “So just come back and be ready to go and have a big season, whether it’s individual, but also team, us making the playoffs.”
Jazz fans will get a clearer vision of what will take place at the point guard position as we get deeper into the off-season. The NBA draft is on June 22, while free agency begins July 6.
