Otto Porter (22) warms up for the Chicago Bulls

Rumors emerged on Sunday night that the Chicago Bulls could potentially be buying out Otto Porter Jr.

The 27 year old veteran has played in seven seasons in the NBA after being drafted out of Georgetown. He was taken third overall in the 2013 draft by the Washington Wizards, and in 2018 Porter was dealt to the Chicago Bulls. Although the Bulls are currently looking at trade options for the forward, there is still a chance that he could be bought out by Chicago.

It doesn't seem likely that the Jazz would trade for Porter. They are in first place in the NBA and it wouldn't make sense to trade anyone that they've got right now. But, with two open roster spots and a need for a solid wing defender, the Jazz could be a great landing place if Porter gets bought out by his current squad.

Although he has dealt with a back injury throughout the first half of this season, he has made the most of the games that he has played in. Porter has averaged 11.6-points, 0.6-steals, 6.3-rebounds, and 2-assists during the 16 games he's been a part of this year.

In his career, Porter has averaged 11-points, 1.2-steals, and 5-rebounds per game. He has also averaged almost 80% from the free throw line, 40% from three point range, and has an effective field goal percentage of 55.6%.

Again, it is very unlikely that the Jazz would trade for Otto Porter Jr. If the Chicago Bulls buy Porter out though, look for Utah to be a nice landing spot for the seven-year vet.
