Throughout this year’s NBA Finals, it seems as if we’ll get a chance to see a few standout rookies have a chance to show out on the media side of the sport. Among these few rookies will be the Utah Jazz’s own, Walker Kessler. Joined alongside a few other studs, Kessler will be up-close and personal to the action, looking to be a great experience for the first-year big man.

According to Scott Agness, a beat writer for the Indiana Pacers, there's looking to be four rookies with a part on the sidelines during the upcoming series:

"Pacers’ Bennedict Mathurin will be serving as a media correspondent for the NBA during the finals — along with fellow rookies Paolo Banchero, Walker Kessler and Jalen Williams. Best of all, this is a good excuse to give these rising stars a taste of the #NBAFinals."

This should be an exciting side story to follow alongside the series itself for Jazz fans. We’ll get the chance to see how exactly Kessler matches up in a reporter-esque setting, hopefully showing off some of his unique personality for a national audience in the process.

We’ve seen many other players currently in the league in years prior take on some off-court media roles, most notably guys like New Orleans Pelicans’ G C.J. McCollum and Golden State Warriors’ F Draymond Green. Now, the next generation is looking to find more involvement.

We’ll likely see Kessler and the other rookies in interviews with other players, sideline reports, and even game analysis. All interesting concepts to watch, considering we’ll be getting some younger player perspectives rather than usual league veterans.

The NBA Finals take place on Thursday, June 1st, where we’ll eventually see how the league’s youthful media experiment pans out.
