Watch: Donovan Mitchell Loses Defender with Killer Crossover

Donovan Mitchell scored 17 points in the first quarter against the Wizards - a new career high.

Coming into the game against the Wizards on Monday night, Donovan Mitchell was averaging 40 points per game over his last three games. Mitchell's momentum from the last three games carried over to the first quarter against Washington. Mitchell scored 17 points in the first quarter - a new career high.

Mitchell's spectacular first quarter included a killer crossover against Ish Smith. Mitchell crossed Smith over before hitting a step-back three. You can watch the crossover from multiple angles below:

That three was part of an impressive stretch during which Mitchell scored 14 straight points for the Jazz.

Mitchell also had two assists in the first quarter including this highlight crossover and dish to Gobert with the shot clock winding down.

The Jazz have won 24 consecutive games at home. Against the Wizards, however, they are without Mike Conley and Jordan Clarkson who are out due to injury.

The Utah Jazz will face off once again against the Washington Wizards tonight at 7pm MST. Jazz fans can watch the game on AT&T SportsNet, and can also tune into the game on 97.5FM or 1280AM. This will be the Jazz third game of a five game home stretch.
