What to Watch For: Utah Jazz vs Orlando Magic

The Utah Jazz will try to add their ninth win in a row against the Orlando Magic tonight in Salt Lake City.

The Utah Jazz will take on the Orlando Magic in Salt Lake City, coming off of a 113-106 win over the Chicago Bulls last night. 

Jazz vs Magic Throwback:

The Utah Jazz have faced off against the Orlando Magic 63-times throughout history. The Jazz lead the all time record 40-23. Utah is currently on a four-game winning streak, with their last win coming on February 27.

Donovan Mitchell came alive in the second half of the previous matchup against the Magic, finishing with 31-points to lead Utah to victory. Joe Ingles added 7-assists and the Stifle Tower, Rudy Gobert, finished the game with 2-blocks in the Jazz 124-109 win.

Key Players:

Joe Ingles and Chuma Okeke are two players that may not be the first that you think about when you hear Utah Jazz and Orlando Magic, but they could play huge roles for their respective teams later this evening.

Joe Ingles has been on fire lately, scorching the nets from three-point range (49.4%) and averaging 4.2-assists and 3.6-rebounds during the 2020-2021 season. 

Chuma Okeke has also been doing well for the Magic, leading the team in points during two of the last four games (18 points against the LA Clippers and 22 points against the Portland Trail Blazers). He is also averaging 4-rebounds and 2-assists per game this season.

Fun Facts:

The Jazz will wear their 'City' uniforms for the second time in as many nights against the Magic. Utah's last game in the black and gradient jerseys came last night in a 7-point win over the Chicago Bulls. The Jazz are currently 9-2 when wearing their city uniform this year.

Utah broke their franchise record for most home wins in a row (21) last night against the Bulls. The 21-win mark passes the previous franchise record which was held between February 26, 1998 and March 5, 1999.

The Utah Jazz are 8-0 in their last eight games and are looking to add a ninth win to that streak later this evening. The Jazz are 37-11, and are in first place in the NBA. Utah leads the Phoenix Suns by three games and the Los Angeles Clippers by six games in the Western Conference. They also lead the Brooklyn Nets by three and a half games and the Philadelphia 76ers by four games in the Eastern Conference.

The Orlando Magic are 17-21 and are in 13th place in the Eastern Conference. The Magic are 3-2 in their last five games with their wins coming over the New Orleans Pelicans, Los Angeles Clippers, and Phoenix Suns. Their losses during that time came against the Los Angeles Lakers and the Portland Trail Blazers.

Juwan Morgan (calf) is 'out' according to Utah's injury report. He is the only Jazz player that is not 'out for the season' that falls on this list. Otto Porter (NA), Michael Carter-Williams (illness), Khem Birch (illness), Terrence Ross (NA), Karim Mane (hamstring) are all 'questionable', while Gary Harris (thigh), Cole Anthony (NA), Jonathan Isaac (NA), and Markelle Fultz (NA) are all listed as 'out' for tonight's game against the Jazz.
