3 Intriguing Landing Spots for Kings' Recently Waived Neemias Queta

In this story:
The Sacramento Kings are staying relevant in NBA off-season headlines with consistent roster changes. After signing former Dallas Mavericks C JaVale McGee, it was only a matter of time until the Kings made the tough decision to let go of competing centers.
Earlier this week, Sacramento waived C Neemias Queta and C Nerlens Noel as they make room for potential roster additions heading into training camp, which is less than a month away.
Noel, 29, is a veteran big man who has made his way around the league, playing for six teams over the past seven years. The talented 6'11" big man could find a new home for the 2023-24 season despite having a career plagued with injuries.
Queta, 24, will be a more intriguing prospect for most NBA teams. After the Kings selected him with the 39th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, he got sent to Sacramento's G League affiliate, the Stockton Kings, to progress his game.
In 29 G League appearances last season, Queta averaged 16.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game while shooting 68% from the field, on his way to earning second in the G League MVP voting.
Queta has an impressive game but still has room to improve. With a 7'0", 250-pound build, Queta is made to dominate in the interior. Although he has only appeared in 20 NBA games through his first two seasons, Queta has shown glimpses of greatness and deserves a shot somewhere.
Here are three potential landing spots that should give Queta that shot:
Golden State Warriors
If any division rival takes Queta away from the Kings, it would be the Golden State Warriors. Days after it was reported Kings' McGee chose Sacramento over the Warriors, they could get their revenge by snagging the young center Queta.
The Warriors have struggled to find consistent big man depth for years, especially while searching for rim protection. Queta is a young option that provides rim protection and rebounding while giving them the necessary depth.
Golden State took down the Kings in the first round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs, where Warriors C Kevon Looney dominated the boards. Queta would have the opportunity to provide that high-level rebounding and paint presence off the bench.
While Queta would likely not crack the Warriors rotation, his potential to be effective off the bench is certainly there.
Washington Wizards
Heading to the Eastern Conference, Queta could find his way to the nation's capital. The Washington Wizards could be the ideal landing spot for Queta, where he fits the timeframe and direction of the franchise.
The Wizards are not ready to win, and it showed after trading away G Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns. Washington is full of young talent, especially after acquiring former Warriors G Jordan Poole and drafting a high-ceiling prospect in F Bilal Coulibaly.
The Wizards lack serious big man depth outside of starting C Daniel Gafford, which Queta has the potential to provide. Washington has the room to give Queta a chance to become their backup center or at least allow him to prove it in training camp.
Charlotte Hornets
The Charlotte Hornets are not your typical franchise, as they tend to end up in headlines for the wrong reasons. Most recently, rotational C Kai Jones has begun to flush his Hornets career down the drain as he brings down his teammates on social media.

Assuming Jones gets waived by Charlotte, they would search for a replacement, which could be Queta.
Queta compliments the other Charlotte big men extremely well and could compete for rotational minutes with C Nick Richards and C Mark Williams. Like the Wizards, the Hornets are nowhere near being in win-now mode and could give Queta some time as he progresses into his potential.
Charlotte only has one player over the age of 30 rostered, as Queta fits into their timeframe exceptionally. The Hornets have every reason to give Queta an opportunity.
