Primetime Kings Dominate LeBron’s Lakers in Momentous Win

In this story:
Grit paid off again for the Sacramento Kings as they claimed a primetime dub against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night. Sacramento continues to thrive in back-to-backs, this time thanks to a strong defensive performance from a team that looks revamped with a new rotation.
The Kings swept the Lakers for the first time since the 2015-16 season, when LA finished bottom of the Western Conference. It was another dominant showing for Domantas Sabonis, a player who continues to remain undefeated against Anthony Davis in his career (10-0).
That wasn't the only streak that stayed alive with the win, as G Keon Ellis helped guide the team to victory to make it six straight wins in games he's started. The second-year guard took over Kevin Huerter's starting spot after Huerter was ruled out with injury hours before tip-off.

Ellis showed off his stellar two-way play by leading the team with three steals and tacking on additional 14 points in a game-changing performance from the young guard. With 27 minutes notched on the night, Ellis saw his confidence grow by making play-after-play to help put away the Lakers.
In the fourth quarter, veteran F Harrison Barnes lit up the basket from three-point range, splashing home four 3-balls in the fourth to reach a game-high seven on the night. As a team, the Kings splashed home 19 threes while shooting 46.3% from downtown.

He's up to 23 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists on 7/11 from deep.
It's just the second time this season he's converted seven triples.
Of course, Domantas Sabonis ran the paint for the Kings once again, bringing home his 48th consecutive double-double. The big man ended with 17 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 assists to make it 23 triple-doubles on the year, extending his NBA-high mark. It was the second matchup in a row that Anthony Davis was held to under 40% shooting against Sabonis.
Another starter that showed up was F Keegan Murray, who shot 5-10 from three point land in a strong showing against the Lakers. Murray added on 11 rebounds, putting up the 5th-most boards he's had in a game in his career.
The Kings will take the court again on Saturday when they'll face the New York Knicks at the Golden1 Center in a shot to make it three-straight wins.
