Kings Receive Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell in Absurd Mock Trade

In this story:
The Sacramento Kings are amid one of the most significant turnarounds in NBA history. After 16 losing seasons of missing the playoffs, the Kings are back toward the top of the Western Conference.
Finishing the 2022-23 season with 48 wins and the third seed in the Western Conference, Sacramento looks to build on its momentum and head into next season with confidence.
The Kings have a fantastic core group of players they managed to keep together this off-season, but one potential trade could change that.
James Piercy of the NBA Analysis Network proposed a deal that would send Cleveland Cavaliers' four-time All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell to the Kings.
The complete trade details include the Kings receiving Mitchell and F Isaac Okoro in exchange for F Harrison Barnes, G Kevin Huerter, F Keegan Murray, and two future first-round picks (2026 and 2028).
This deal would have to be completed mid-season, as Barnes can not be traded until at least December 15, 2023. It makes sense for the Cavaliers to wait to deal Mitchell, as they want to know if he looks to sign an extension with the team.
The Kings would look to trade for Mitchell to build one of the best "big threes" in the NBA. A trio of Mitchell, De'Aaron Fox, and Domantas Sabonis would propel Sacramento to championship contenders.
The Cavaliers only do this deal if they are uncertain about Mitchell's future in Cleveland, as they can get young assets in return rather than inevitably letting him walk in free agency. Adding rising star Keegan Murray, sharpshooter Kevin Huerter, and veteran Harrison Barnes gives Cleveland depth and a solid team.
Cleveland would be hesitant to trade Mitchell if they believe they can make a deep playoff run with their current roster. They would likely take a step back championship-wise if they trade away Mitchell.
This deal does not make sense for the Kings strictly because there is no need to give up what they are building in Sacramento. As the Kings build one of the best cores in the NBA, they all gain chemistry and improve as a team. Giving up three starters and two first-round draft picks would be a questionable move by the Kings' front office.
The mock trade would be an exciting one, but it is unrealistic for both sides.
