Knicks 2023-24 Schedule Opens vs. Celtics (Full Schedule)

The New York Knicks' attempt to build upon their most successful season in a decade tips off on Oct. 25 against the Boston Celtics.

The New York Knicks know where they want to be after a lucrative 2022-23 season. Now, the path has officially been paved.

With nuggets from marquee days like the In-Season Tournament and Christmas Day trickling out earlier this month, a majority of the 2023-24 NBA schedule was released on Thursday. The Knicks' attempt to build on their most successful season in a decade opens on Oct. 25 against the Boston Celtics. That game will be staged at Madison Square Garden and nationally televised on ESPN with a tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

Other immediate calendar highlights on the Knicks' slate include Oct. 31 and Nov. 24, their first respective showdowns against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat, their opponents during their two-legged NBA Playoff trip from last spring. The showdown against Cleveland will be the first half of a back-to-back, home-and-home series while Miami's visit to MSG will be the third of four games that count toward the NBA Cup standings.

In terms of reunions, two games stand out for the Knicks: Golden State Warriors fans will have to be patient to see Donte DiVincenzo again, as he and his new employers don't visit San Francisco until March 18 in the penultimate leg of a four-game Western Conference road trip. Meanwhile, Obi Toppin will visit MSG as a member of the Indiana Pacers for the first time on Feb. 1. Barring injury, Jalen Brunson will take the floor as a visitor to Dallas on Jan. 11, having missed last year's journey to North Texas due to an ankle ailment in December.

The Knicks' successful 2022-23 campaign, featuring their first playoff series victory in a decade, was well-recognized and rewarded by the NBA national broadcast partners, who are slated to call 25 of the Knicks' 82 regular season games. They'll appear on the ESPN family of networks 13 times (including three games on ABC) with TNT and NBA TV getting seven and five contests respectively.

Other notable dates on the Knicks' schedule include Dec. 20 and Jan. 5, their first respective matchups with divisional rivals Brooklyn and Philadelphia. The defending champion Denver Nuggets visit MSG on Jan. 25 while the Knicks wrap up that aforementioned road to open spring in the Rockies on March 21.

Two games on the Knicks' schedule will be announced at a later date: those dates/opponents rely on their success, or lack thereof, in the In-Season Tournament. Should they move onto the Knockout Round, they'll partake in the eight-team tournament staged from Dec. 4-9. If they miss out, they'll instead play regular season games on Dec. 6 or 8.
