New York Knicks Finish Strong in Win vs. San Antonio Spurs

In this story:
The New York Knicks are officially in the midst of their first winning streak of the 2023-24 season after a 126-105 victory against the San Antonio Spurs at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.
New York (4-4) raced out to a double-digit lead early by scoring the first 13 points and kept a considerable distance from the Spurs all night long. The Knicks' lead reached as high as 30 in the second half and San Antonio (3-5) only came as close as 14 the rest of the way.
"We started the game off really well, got to a big lead, and throughout most of the game we kind of held that lead," Jalen Brunson said via KENS5. "In the fourth quarter, they made a little jump at us. But that team doesn’t stop playing – there’s always something going on with them and they kept us on our heels, but we were able to finish the game strongly."
Wednesday's margin of victory was the Knicks' biggest this season and their final tally of 126 was tied for another season-high (previously earned in Oct. 27's win in Atlanta). New York also lost only three turnovers, tied for a single-game franchise-low.
New York is capable of being one of the dominant teams in the Eastern Conference, especially when it plays as unselfish as it did against the Spurs. The Knicks had 28 assists on 46 made baskets and their three leading scorers, Brunson (25), RJ Barrett (24), and Julius Randle (23) each earned at least 20 points with Immanuel Quickley (19) and Isaiah Hartenstein (13) reached double-figures off the bench.
A win like this could give the Knicks momentum and confidence as they navigate a five-game road trip just before Thanksgiving. But before they hit the road, the Knicks close a three-game homestand at Madison Square Garden against the Charlotte Hornets (12 p.m. ET, MSG).
