Immanuel Quickley Praises New York Knicks' 'Fight' in Win vs. Miami Heat

The New York Knicks are still alive in the In-Season Tournament following a stunning comeback in a 100-98 victory against the Miami Heat on Friday night at Madison Square Garden.
The Heat led 83-62 with 3:40 left in the third quarter but the Knicks (9-6) allowed them to score just 15 more points the rest of the way. On the other side, New York scored 38 over the final 15-plus minutes, partly driven by 20 points off the bench from Immanuel Quickley. The Knicks' sixth man scored eight alone in the final period, matching the outputs from starters RJ Barrett and Jalen Brunson in a 29-11 advantage.
"The fight of this team is great," Quickley told MSG Network's Rebecca Haarlow in the immediate aftermath. "We can't be satisfied. We got to continue to try and scratch our way."
Allowing just 15 points in the final 15 minutes of a game against any team in the NBA isn't easy, let alone the defending Eastern Conference champions, but that's a testament to the Knicks' developing toughness: Friday was their seventh win over the past nine games after a 2-4 start. New York allowed less than 100 points for the sixth time this season after doing so 11 times the year prior.
The comeback against the Heat, capped off by consecutive and-one drives for Brunson and Barrett, was a hint that the Knicks are capable of going toe-to-toe against some of the best teams in the league. It can prove to be a bit of a statement in time, as it kept the Knicks' In-Season Tournament title hopes alive against the team that ended their season a year ago.
There's another, immediate chance for the Knicks to prove that Friday was no fluke: Sunday will see them welcome the streaking Phoenix Suns in part two of a four-game homestand (6 p.m. ET, MSG).
