Knicks 'Patient' on Trade Market, Unlikely to Deal for Bulls' Zach LaVine

In this story:
Zach LaVine's future with the Chicago Bulls is up in the air, as the All-Star guard may be traded this offseason.
According to Yahoo! Sports, several teams are engaged in trade discussions for LaVine, one of which may include the New York Knicks, but the team may choose to run its course without a major deal.
"Maybe the Knicks will kick the tires again on a serious LaVine overture this summer, but New York has so far drawn atypical praise from around the NBA for the Knicks’ recent patient team-building approach," Yahoo! Sports' Jake Fischer writes.
However, LaVine's camp is reportedly uninterested in a deal with the Knicks, according to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News, with the prior management connections of president Leon Rose serving as the opposite of a selling point.
"The Bulls are reportedly gauging interest in the All-Star guard, which prompted speculation that the Knicks — who are strapped with future draft assets — would get involved," Bondy wrote of a deal involving LaVine, who is connected to Klutch Sports. "But a source said the LaVine camp isn't interested in dealing with the Knicks, who have a reputation around the league of favoring clients of CAA, the agency that employed Leon Rose before his move to the Knicks front office.
LaVine has four years and $178 million remaining on his contract. The 28-year-old guard averaged 24.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game last year. The two-time All-Star has proven to be a consistent scoring threat, averaging no worse than 24 points per game in each of the last four seasons.
However, a deal would be costly, and if LaVine isn't interested in joining the Knicks, the feeling should be mutual from New York's front office. Perhaps a big trade will happen, but if it does, don't expect it to be for LaVine.
