The New York Knicks are feeling good about themselves after a 126-105 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.

Wednesday's win, which shut down rookie phenom Victor Wembanyama, carried their largest margin of victory this season and also tied their season-best in scoring (previously reaching 126 on Oct. 27 in Atlanta). New York (4-4) buried the Spurs early by scoring the first 13 points of the game and led by as much as 30.

"I thought the way we started the game was huge, playing from the lead," Thibodeau said via KENS5. "I thought we were strong on both sides of the ball. I thought the unselfishness on the offense was huge, good rhythm to make the threes. I thought we were flying around early."

Five different scorers reached double-figures for New York, including three starters (RJ Barrett, Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle) in double figures.

The Knicks have been criticized for their selfishness so far this season. Tenured trainer Marcell Scott was vocal after the Knicks' loss to the Milwaukee Bucks last Friday, which he claims has completely forgotten his client and Knicks starting center Mitchell Robinson.

"Dam 23 is not even much a lob threat anymore," Scott wrote on his Instagram story after the Knicks dropped a 110-105 decision to the Milwaukee Bucks last Friday (h/t New York Basketball on X). "What ever happened to rewarding ur bigs (sometimes) for busting their a**. its a lot of ME, ME ball in NY !! GN. [sic]".

But the Knicks have won each of their past two games since Scott's post and the first half, Monday's win over the Los Angeles Clippers, saw Robinson score a season-best 13 points.

New York's success or failure appears to be determined by its ball movement: the team has averaged 26 assists a game in its four wins, a number that drops to just over 19 in the four losses. If the Knicks can continue to play an unselfish brand of basketball, there could be many more wins in their future.

The Knicks are back in action on Sunday when LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets visit Madison Square Garden (12 p.m. ET, MSG).
