Lakers Injury Report: Jarred Vanderbilt Posts Update On Bursitis Recovery

After missing the past few weeks of both preseason and regular season play with a nagging heel issue diagnosed as bursitis, Los Angeles Lakers power forward Jarred Vanderbilt looks to be back in business soon.

In a recent Instagram post, he can be seen working out in different capacities, including doing lunges, riding a stationary bike, and running on an anti-gravity treadmill.

To that end, it looks like he's regained most of his range of motion and mobility, which should signal a return in the next couple of weeks.

The Lakers are certainly in need of him as they enter the heart of the season. While Cam Reddish has played quite well in his absence, the expectation is that one of the league's top perimeter defenders should immediately contribute, improving an LA unit that has struggled after being atop the league at the end of last season.

Further, as LeBron and Anthony Davis inevitably miss some time, Vanderbilt's presence will be increasingly critical to fill that void on the defensive side of the ball.
