4 (Technical) Lakers Hall Of Famers Make List Of Top 20 Power Forwards Ever

The greatest franchise of all time.

Four former Los Angeles Lakers made the cut in HoopsHype's recent compendium of the 20 greatest power forwards in NBA history.

One of them, inside the top 10, is still a member of the team.

Coming in at No. 3 and as the first former Laker on the list is Karl Malone. Malone only played for the Lakers for one season, but during his time with Utah, he cemented one of the greatest careers in the history of the game. Winning two MVP and two All-Star Game MVP awards, being a 14-time All-Star and 14-time All-NBA team selection, and sliding into 3rd all-time on the NBA total points list, Malone accomplished nearly everything a player possibly could, sans winning a championship.

Coming in at No. 9 is none other than current Laker Anthony Davis. AD is a 4-time All-NBA selection and 4-time All-Defensive selection, leading the league in blocks 3 times and being selected to 8 All-Star games. As the cherry on top, he won a title in 2020 with the Lake Show, and has cemented himself as a future first-ballot Hall of Famer. Incredibly, Davis is just 30, and has many more years to build up his resume even further.

Coming in at No. 11 is Spaniard Pau Gasol, who was Kobe's running mate in their back-to-back championship wins in 2009 and 2010. Gasol is one of the most under-appreciated players of this generation, having as many All-NBA selections as Anthony Davis (4), and having been selected to 6 All-Star games. A walking double-double, Gasol is one of the best international players the league has ever seen, and with the Lakers retiring his number, his legacy will live on.

Somewhat-forgotten Laker Dennis Rodman slides in at No. 14, carrying a more impressive resume than you may think. With five NBA titles, two All-NBA selections, two All-Stars, two Defensive Player of the Year awards, and seven All-Defensive First Team selections, Rodman's path to the Hall was seamless. Yes, his best years were behind him by the time he came to Los Angeles for the 1998-99, but his tenure with the Lakers still earns him inclusion in our accounting of LA players to make this list. He also continues to live in Southern California. He has made a home for himself in Newport Beach.
