Lakers News: Anthony Davis Gives Non-Answer About Russell Westbrook’s Fit With Clippers

The veteran point guard finalized a contract buyout with the Utah Jazz and signed with the Clippers this week.

After a failed fit between Russell Westbrook and your Los Angeles Lakers, the team decided to trade the nine-time All-Star to the Utah Jazz in order to acquire Jarred Vanderbilt and Malik Beasley.

Westbrook negotiated a buyout with Utah, before it was announced that he was signing with the Lakers’ cross-hall rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers.

As Westbrook left the Lakers, many rumors swirled about how the former MVP negatively impacted the team’s locker room. Following Westbrook’s departure, reporters asked Davis his thoughts on the former teammate joining the Clippers:

"I'm not part of that team," Davis said. "I have no idea what their locker room is like, what their chemistry is like."

Reporters then asked Davis how he thinks the point guard will add to the Clippers:

"Honestly, I don't really watch the Clippers like that," Davis said. "I got three kids; I don't have time for that. I don't know; I know they got rid of [ex-point guards] John [Wall] and Reggie [Jackson], so it's another point guard for them. I'm not sure how T-Lue and the coaching staff will utilize him, but I'm pretty sure he's happy to stay in L.A."

Westbrook appears to be happy as a Clipper and even said himself that it meant a lot to him to know that the team wanted him.

Just Friday night, Westbrook suited up for his first game ever in a Clippers jersey. His debut was quite notable given the fact that it was the second highest scoring game ever in league history, as the Sacramento Kings defeated the Clippers 176-175. As far as the former Laker's individual performance, Westbrook put up 17 points, 5 rebounds, and a game-high 14 assists while going 54% from the field.
