Ex-Lakers Sharpshooter Hits Free Agency, Return to LA May Be in Play

Could he find his way back to Hollywood?

The Los Angeles Lakers seemingly improved in every way this offseason and when you take into account that they made the Western Conference Finals last year after their rocky start, their front office should be nothing but praised at the moment.

Even their backup center position, which was their only red flag over the past few months, was filled by a 6'10 big man that averaged 16 points and seven rebounds in limited minutes last season in Christian Wood.

However, just like any other team in the league right now, LA should always be keeping an eye for players that can hit three's at a high level and hold their own defensively. Seeing just how close their four games against the Denver Nuggets were in that final sweep, these types of players are even more valued in the postseason.

And it looks like a former Lakers wing who fits this description is hitting the open market again as news broke that Reggie Bullock agreed to a buyout with the San Antonio Spurs and he is expected to sign with a contending franchise soon.

"The San Antonio Spurs and veteran wing Reggie Bullock have agreed to a contract buyout, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Bullock is set to enter free agency where several championship contenders and playoff teams will pursue him."

Bullock suited up in 78 games for the Dallas Mavericks last season and averaged seven points on 38 percent from deep in 30 minutes per game. In 19 games with the Lakers back in the 2018-2019 season, he averaged 9 points on 34 percent from beyond the arc.

Bullock is 6'7 and weighs around 200 pounds. He would definitely have to fight his way into the guard/small forward rotation seeing that LA already has a number of serviceable names in Austin Reaves, Cam Reddish, Rui Hachimura and more but his experience and skillset could be a great fit on a small deal!
