Lakers Injury Report: Status Of Long-Injured Player Upgraded As Rockets Rematch Looms

In this story:
As your Los Angeles Lakers head home for their matchup with the Houston Rockets on Sunday night, one member of the team has been upgraded to questionable for the game.
That would be rookie guard Jalen Hood-Schifino, who has been out for a while due to injury. Khobi Price of The Orange County Register has the scoop:
Jalen Hood-Schifino has been upgraded to questionable for tomorrow's home game vs. the Rockets.

He has yet to make his NBA debut, so we could be witnessing it tonight if he can be cleared to go. The Lakers first-round pick from this year's NBA Draft could provide them with some needed guard depth against a feisty Rockets team.
Hood-Schifino could help run the offense if he is able to play, and the home crowd would get their first look at him. The organization is high on him going forward, and he is great at getting to the basket.
If he is able to go, look for him to run with the second unit, while also getting a few looks with some of LA's stars. Head coach Darvin Ham may only play him a few minutes, but he also might want to have Hood-Schifino run with star LeBron James to get him comfortable.
Houston blew the Lakers off the court in their first matchup in early November, beating LA by 36 points. Lakers star Anthony Davis didn't play in the game due to injury, and it was a tough night all around for the team. The hope is that LA can have a better showing this time around at home.
Hopefully, he can be upgraded and cleared to play. But his move to being questionable means that even if he doesn't play tonight, his debut isn't far off.
