Lakers News: Anthony Davis Emphasizes Importance Of Blowouts For Surprising Reason

Your Los Angeles Lakers' 131-99 victory over the Jazz was complete domination from the start, with LA jumping out to a 15-point lead to close out the first quarter.

After the game, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet caught up with LA center Anthony Davis, who had 26 points and 16 rebounds on 11-of-14 shooting in just 29 minutes.

Trudell brought up how AD played under 30 minutes, something that, because of the Lakers seemingly playing everybody close, is uncommon.

"How much of a difference does it mean to you to play sub-30 minutes in a back-to-back, relative to 38 to 40?" Trudell asked.

"It alleviates pressure," Davis said. "[I] get a chance to get an extra...20 minutes of rest, especially going into a back-to-back."

AD's comment about the increase in rest is huge, especially ahead of a back-to-back. With him and LeBron aging and both having fairly lengthy injury histories, any rest they can get is great for injury prevention, as well as being more energized in the second game of their back-to-back.

LeBron, similar to AD, didn't have to play much, as he was out there for just 24 minutes. Going into tomorrow's difficult matchup with a star-studded Dallas team, both James and Davis, who should have major matchup advantages, are better equipped to have big nights.
