Lakers News: Darvin Hams Puts Positive Spin On Another Terrible 3-Point Shooting Night For LA

In this story:
The up-and-down start for the Los Angeles Lakers this season can be attributed to multiple factors including guys missing time due to injury, and the team's lack of three-point shooting. Once again, the Lakers have struggled shooting the ball from three-point land this year, and it caused them to be in a game they should have controlled.
Against the Houston Rockets on Sunday night, their shooting woes reared their ugly heads, but LA found a way to come away with the victory.
“Prince (one-for-11) and Russell (one-for-eight) were a combined two-for-19 from the field and one-for-nine from three-point range. As a group, the Lakers shot just 20.7% from three-point range, going six-for-29.”
Per Broderick Turner of The LA Times
The struggles from deep have plagued this team this season already, and it goes back to last year as well. For some reason, players forget how to shoot the ball when they come to the Purple and Gold, and it has amazed fans everywhere.
Continuing his thoughts for the majority of the season, head coach Darvin Ham gave his opinion on the Lakers poor shooting night. He didn’t seem overly concerned with the struggles that his team saw.
“Those guys are going to hit those looks,” Ham said. “We wholeheartedly trust those guys to take those shots and I want them to continue to take them. Some nights, the ball just doesn’t go down for whatever reason.”

LA has been getting good looks each game, they just aren’t falling. The one game that they did fall, LA blew out the Memphis Grizzlies and they set a franchise record for made threes in a game.
If the Lakers could ever shoot even league-average from beyond the arch, they would be an extremely tough team to beat on a nightly basis. If the issues continue, the Lakers will certainly look to upgrade the roster at the upcoming trade deadline.
