Lakers News: Former LA Fan Favorite Signs With International Club

"Swaggy P" with a swaggy signing?

Former Los Angeles Laker and Southern California basketball legend Nick Young recently inked a deal with the Macau Black Bears of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL), to continue his professional career.

The ABL is an eight-team league featuring teams from Southeast Asian countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and more. Young's team, the Black Bears, is from Macau, a special administrative region of China, similar to Hong Kong, which also happens to sponsor a participating team.

Young joins a team with multiple Americans on it, including Isaiah Wade, who played his college ball at Central Oklahoma, and DeAngelo Hamilton, who played at Washington State.

The ABL is a relatively new league, founded in 2009. Its recency has made for thin competition with regards to the quantity of teams, but nonetheless, Young joins an exciting league that has tons of growth potential throughout the Asia Pacific.

Young is slated to play in a tournament October 27th-28th, which is expected to be his first appearance donning the white and black.

Prior to joining the Black Bears, Young had spent 5 years away from professional basketball, so it's good to see the longtime Laker back in the thick of things.
