Lakers News: LA Among 3 Preferred Trade Destinations For Zach LaVine

In this story:

Your Los Angeles Lakers improved their team from top to bottom heading into 2023-2024. Because of this, LA is among the deepest clubs in the league, and although their play hasn't reflected that, it should be only a matter of time.

But if you know the Lakers, you know they're never a set product, and they could always be better. So when an All-Star player becomes available, the Lakers always seem to be in the midst of things, and that's no different when it comes to two-time All-Star and former UCLA Bruin guard Zach LaVine.

It was rumored earlier in the week that the Bulls and LaVine are working on a trade when that becomes available, and the Purple and Gold are rumored to be among the top three ideal trade destinations for the 28-year-old.

LaVine and his representation hold several preferred landing spots, such as the

Los Angeles Lakers

,

Miami Heat

and

Philadelphia 76ers

, league sources told Yahoo Sports, and each team has registered some level of interest in the Bulls guard.

It seems like LaVine has been regarded in trade rumors for the past year and a half or so. The Lakers have also been involved in one way or another in the rumblings.

LaVine reportedly wants to move on because he doesn't view the Bulls roster as competitive enough to be contenders in the NBA, let alone in the Eastern Conference.

The two-time All-Star has only been to the playoffs once and got swept by the Milwaukee Bucks in the process. He averaged 19.3 points, six assists, and 5.3 rebounds in his four healthy games with the club, on 43% shooting.

LaVine has never played for a contender, but a move to LA would certainly change that for the Washington native. As he's expressed publicly, he wants to win and play with LeBron James. We'll see if the Lakers have enough for him when the time comes or if they even want to go back to that "three-star" mentality to secure championship number 18.

One thing is for sure: the Lakers and Rob Pelinka will do what's best for the team.
