Lakers News: LeBron James Claps Back At Disproven Idea About His 2018 Free Agency

In your Los Angeles Lakers' 105-104 win over the Houston Rockets on Monday, LeBron James was absolutely dominant, finishing with 37 points on 14-of-19 shooting to go along with six rebounds and eight assists.
This was LeBron's 108th game of over 30 points as a member of the Lakers, which brought up the topic of why he originally came to LA in the first place, back in 2018.
LeBron James comments on the narrative that he came to the Lakers for off-court ventures.

When he made his free agency decision to leave Cleveland, LeBron received flack for coming to Los Angeles, as much of the narrative surrounded the idea that he could only come to the team for off-court ventures.
Coming to LA would ensure more media and entertainment opportunities, as well as more sponsorship deals, which for many people seemed to be the driving factor in the King’s decision to come to a rebuilding team.
At the time, LeBron adamantly denied those allegations, and has since proven that that is the case given how incredibly productive he's been is a member of the Lakers.
Having brought the city a championship in 2020 and a Western Conference Finals appearance in 2023, James believes that he needed to bring this up to “remind” people that years later, his decision to come to LA was strictly basketball.
