In this story:

Your Los Angeles Lakers have some of the more well-recognized uniforms in the NBA.

Now, it appears they're adding a new addition to their already-impressive sartorial collection.

LA's newly launched 2023-24 season "City Edition" jerseys are likely to be no different, as some leaked images of them are below:

The colorway is arguably the best, most recognizable part of the uniform. This is especially true given the NBA's tendency to seemingly create new colorways for "City Edition" jerseys.

For example, the Utah Jazz "City" jerseys are Orange, as it's supposed to symbolize the state's "red-rock landscape," as opposed to any of their team colors.

The Lakers having the ability to stick with their signature colors will make the jersey more recognizable and stick to the LA culture and team branding that we're all used to.

Here's just a sample of what fans had to say online about the uniform:

Clearly, fans are pretty fond of the jerseys, and one fan remarked something specific that may go unnoticed to the untrained eye:

"The fact that no one knows the font on the front was the Lakers’ actual logo from 1960-67 before they changed it to the first iteration of the current logo is mind boggling to me."

This fan's comment definitely adds to the meaning of the jerseys, as tracing back to the Lakers' logo from 6-plus decades ago enables for the reminder of LA's success as a franchise and recognizability as a franchise.
