Lakers News: Ahead Of LA Bout, Trail Blazers Make 2 Roster Changes

On the day of their Crypto.com Arena matchup against your Los Angeles Lakers, the Portland Trail Blazers have made two changes to their personnel.

Free agent veteran guard Jamaree Bouyea has officially inked a two-way deal with Portland, the team announced in a new press release. He'll be replacing former two-way point guard Skylar Mays, who has impressed after being compelled into emergency service early this season, enough so that he has been promoted to the Trail Blazers' standard 15-man roster, per another press statement.

Three key Trail Blazers guards are currently out of commission, so it makes sense that the team's front office, piloted by GM Joe Cronin, is targeting these backcourt moves at this stage in the season.

Perennially-injured reigning Sixth Man of the Year guard Malcolm Brogdon is out for now with a hamstring strain, young combo guard Anfernee Simons is still recovering from a thumb surgery, and underperforming rookie lottery pick Scoot Henderson has been out since November 1st with a bone bruise in his sprained right ankle.

Mays, a 6'4" combo guard, is averaging 6.1 points on .395/.188/1.000 shooting splits, along with 2.7 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.7 rebounds. And he'll be starting for Portland tonight.
