Lakers News: Top Betting Odds, Lines For LA-Magic Duel Tonight

In this story:
Your 1-2 Los Angeles Lakers will be squaring off against reigning Rookie of the Year power forward Paolo Banchero, small forward Franz Wagner and the rest of their undefeated (2-0, but still) Orlando Magic tonight. LA will be back home at Crypto.com Arena, just a day removed from a 132-127 loss to the Sacramento Kings in which Austin Reaves was a blatant no-show.
So let's take a gander at the odds and lines ahead of today's bout, via our favorite sports book aggregator The Action Network.
The Game Spread
The Lakers opened the day as -4 favorites over Orlando in their homecoming. Now, that line has moved to just -2.5, as Vegas bettors clearly have heard that Los Angeles head coach Darvin Ham might be mulling over which star Lakers to sit today. James has already been downgraded to merely "probable" with left ankle tendonitis. I would take the Magic to cover (I'd take them to win, honestly, given their massive advantages in rest and athleticism).
Double-Double Props
Magic center Wendell Carter Jr. has been given the best odds to notch a double-double (+195), with Banchero (+215), James (+270) and Anthony Davis (+290) close behind. That's an incredible value on Davis, who is actually averaging a double-double this year -- although I suppose it's possible his odds are lower than the others' because there's a question about his availability. Carter does make sense, as he is averaging 8.0 points and 8.5 boards, but that's a pretty modest total when compared with Davis' current season averages of 25.7 points, on 48.2% field goal shooting, and 12 rebounds. James, too, is averaging a double-double (23 points on 57.1% shooting, 10.3 rebounds). Carter and Banchero, meanwhile, have yet to achieve a double-double this season at all. I'd assume Davis does it again if he plays, and I think he will. I'd stay away from James, who may sit, or Banchero. I think Carter is a push, but I personally don't trust him in this particularly matchup.
D'Angelo Russell, Taurean Prince's Three-Point Shooting Over/Unders
Both LA starters' set over/under is 1.5 made triples. Russell is currently making a paltry 23.5% of his 5.7 three-point tries... but because of the sheer volume of those tries, that's still 1.3 attempts a night! Markelle Fultz is a bulldog of a defender. Look for D-Lo to continue his slump tonight. Prince, meanwhile, has been pretty hot and cold. He's had two big games as a key off-ball floor-spacer for James and Davis, sandwiched in between a miserable zero-point performance against a depleted Phoenix Suns team, while he expended most of his energy on defense instead. For the year, he's knocking down a stellar 45% of his 6.7 triple attempts per bout, or three made treys per. But, again, he's already had a game where he made zero shots. Take the forward out of Baylor to cover.
