Luka Doncic is concerned for his ex-teammate.

On Monday night, Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving left the team's game with the Sacramento Kings after suffering a knee sprain. He stayed in and made two free throws before departing.

Doncic took to Instagram and posted a story reacting to Irving's injury and his heroics shooting the free throws with emojis.

Doncic is still clearly close with his ex-teammates, but he was a backcourt partner with Irving for almost two seasons and that had to have bonded them.

On February 2, the Mavericks traded Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a first-round pick. The deal was shocking to everyone around the NBA, including Doncic and his Mavericks teammates. They probably all believed he'd be there for a long time.

It's clear Doncic was upset by Irving getting injured.
