Luka Doncic's NBA career took a wild turn this past weekend when he was sent from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers in a blockbuster trade that stunned the sports world.

On Tuesday morning he had his first press conference with his new team. The 25-year-old guard talked about his emotions in the hours after he learned about the deal and how he's now looking forward to working alongside LeBron James in Los Angeles.

Toward the end of his press conference Doncic was asked if he has something to prove after the Mavs traded him away.

"Obviously, yeah." Doncic said. "Win the championship. You don’t come here for nothing else but championships. I have everything left to prove and the goal is to win the championship."

Lakers fans will love to hear that from their new star but they'll still have to wait a bit for his debut as Doncic is nearing the end of his recovery from a calf injury.
