Magic Starting 5: Draft Trade Coming for Orlando?

The Magic Insider lists five of the biggest NBA storylines in addition to relevant Orlando Magic news and analysis.

1. MAGIC DRAFT TRADE COMING?

"There's been some chatter that the Magic might not keep both of their lottery picks," ESPN writes. "They should certainly have options if they choose to try to move around."

2. TAYLOR HENDRICKS FITS MAGIC?

"For every team in the league, Hendricks would fit like a glove with his versatility on both ends of the floor."

3. PISTONS PURSUING MONTY WILLIAMS

A former Orlando Magic player may have a new job soon.

According to The Athletic, the Detroit Pistons are finalizing a six-year, $72 million contract with Monty Williams to become their next head coach.

Williams, 51, spent the last four seasons coaching the Phoenix Suns. He made the NBA Finals in 2021 and was named Coach of the Year in 2022 after winning 64 games. However, the Suns failed to make the Western Conference Finals in each of the last two seasons, resulting in the team moving on from him.

Williams played for the Magic from 1999-2002 as part of his nine-year career in the league.

4. NBA FINALS GAME 1

Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat, just three days removed from winning Game 7 in the Eastern Conference Finals, travel to the Mile High City to face Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets, who haven't played in over 10 days.

Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. on ABC.

5. DRAFT COUNTDOWN

The Orlando Magic is 21 days away from the 2023 NBA Draft, where the team will welcome the newest members of the franchise.

Coverage begins on June 22 at 8 p.m. on ESPN.
