Magic Starting 5: Orlando Signs Trio, Including Dunk Contest Champ & G League MVP

The Orlando Magic signed Mac McClung, Miye Oni and Trevelin Queen in recent days.

1. MAC MCCLUNG "McClung's deal is partially-guaranteed, which could mean that the Magic has some plans for him. However, Orlando already has a very crowded backcourt rotation, so it will be hard to crack it."

2. MIYE ONI "Oni, 26, played his college ball at Yale where he was the Ivy League Player of the Year in 2019. He was drafted with the No. 58 overall pick by the Golden State Warriors, but had his draft rights traded to the Jazz."

3. TREVELIN QUEEN The Orlando Magic is making an addition to the roster.

According to Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel, the Magic is signing former Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers guard Trevelin Queen to an Exhibit 10 deal.

Per Beede ... An Exhibit 10 contract is a 1-year deal worth the minimum that guarantees a player will get a camp invite. It allows teams to convert a player’s deal into a 2-way contract at the start of the season but also provides bonuses if a player signs with a G League affiliate.

Queen, 26, played 10 games for the Rockets in 2021-22 and seven games for the Pacers last season.

4. MORE ON QUEEN "The signing, ultimately, raises the competition for the bottom half of players on the roster. For players on the team with unsafe roster spots, the intensity of training camp just turned up a notch."

5. HARDEN FINE "Harden’s recent public rant against Philadelphia 76ers GM Daryl Morey - the All-Star guard calling the Sixers' executive a “liar” while pushing his “trade-me” agenda - meant on NBA probe into the matter …

"And the outburst has now earned Harden a $100,000 fine - the maximum punishment that the NBA can hand down."
