Magic Starting 5: Tyler Herro vs. Stan Van Gundy

The Magic Insider lists five of the biggest NBA storylines in addition to relevant Orlando Magic news and analysis.

In this story:

1. HERRO vs. VAN GUNDY

"Context matters, and it's hard to see why Van Gundy would actually be mad at Herro, even if his comments were unnecessary. That being said, Herro took it a step forward instead of laughing it off, which warrants the criticism Van Gundy gave in his final response."

2. CAN GUARDS HELP MAGIC SUCCEED?

"The Magic have guards, but it's unclear if any are long-term keepers," Bleacher Report writes. "Markelle Fultz can't score from range, Cole Anthony is a defensive liability and Jalen Suggs lacks obvious utility on offense."

3. ON THIS DAY, 1995

On this day 28 years ago, the Orlando Magic faced the Indiana Pacers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Magic led 2-1, but the Pacers evened it up with a 94-93 win after a thrilling finish, which featured four lead changes in the final 13 seconds.

4. HEAT vs. CELTICS GAME 7

After losing the first three games in the series, the Boston Celtics have staved off elimination and won the past three, forcing a decisive Game 7 at TD Garden.

Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. on TNT.

5. DRAFT COUNTDOWN

The Orlando Magic is 24 days away from the 2023 NBA Draft, where the team will welcome the newest members of the franchise.

Coverage begins on June 22 at 8 p.m. on ESPN.
