ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic is gearing up to play the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight at the Kia Center.

To learn more about the Magic's opponent, we spoke with Inside The Thunder contributor Kade Kimble.

What’s been the key behind the Thunder’s ascent in the Western Conference standings?

Being a young team, the Thunder has been able to endure tough stretches and avoid any long losing streaks, having not lost more than two games in a row. Injury luck has been a huge part of the team being consistent as well.

If the Thunder wins tonight, what is the reason why?

If the Thunder is able to win, it’ll be because they found success on the boards. When they’re able to secure stops and get out in fast break opportunities, they’re a dangerous team to stop when you couple that with their ability to create good looks in the half court setting.

What’s one thing people should know about the Thunder that cannot be found in a box score?

The team is going to bring plenty of effort. Small things like loose balls and making hustle plays to make life more difficult for the opposing team is something the Thunder does well to ensure no comfortability for the opposition.

What’s one matchup other than Paolo vs. Chet that you’re intrigued by tonight?

Jalen Suggs guarding Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, should that be his assignment, will be intriguing to watch. Suggs has been impressive on that side of the floor, and Gilgeous-Alexander is a premier isolation player.

What’s your prediction for the game?

I think the two teams play each other tightly in what could be a sloppy game in crunch time. While the Thunder took care of business a month ago, this matchup coming in Orlando should make for a tight battle that ultimately sees the Thunder winning.
