Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis is expected to miss multiple weeks due to an adductor strain injury, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Sunday. Per Charania, Davis could potentially miss up to a month of action.

Davis went down during his Mavericks' debut on Saturday, his first game after the Los Angeles Lakers shockingly traded him to Dallas for Luka Doncic the week prior. He was off to a hot start in his Mavericks start, recording 14 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists in the first quarter of a 116-105 win over the Houston Rockets. He finished his debut game with 26 points, 16 rebounds, and seven assists.

Davis later came down in the third quarter clutching his groin/quad area, and did not return after exiting with the non-contact injury. After the game, Davis said the injury was a "little spasm" and "nothing serious," but he now could miss up to a month of action.

The injury comes right as Davis returned from an abdominal injury that he sustained while he was on the Lakers. Injuries have been a kryptonite for Davis throughout his career, and the start of his tenure in Dallas is unfortunately proving no differently.
