Mavs Trade Talk: Buddy Hield, Robert Williams to Dallas in 4-Team Blockbuster?

An enthusiastic hypothetical trade proposal sees the Dallas Mavericks adding a knockdown sharpshooter in Indiana Pacers' Buddy Hield and Boston Celtics big man Robert Williams.

Although the NBA trade market has been incredibly quiet lately, that doesn't mean fans and media alike have to stop speculating on deals that could make some sense in the future … even if said deals are complicated and involve multiple teams.

The Dallas Mavericks have had an eventful offseason, significantly overturning their roster to help Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving with the additions of Grant Williams, Seth Curry, Dereck Lively II, OMax Prosper, Derrick Jones Jr., Richaun Holmes and others. Despite the addition of Holmes and Lively, though, the Mavs have reportedly still been looking to upgrade at the starting center position.

In a proposed trade idea by FadeawayWorld.net, the Mavs are included in a four-team blockbuster that would net them Indiana Pacers knockdown shooter Buddy Hield and Boston Celtics big man Robert Williams to complete their roster.

Here is the entire proposal that was presented: Dallas Mavericks Receive: Buddy Hield, Robert Williams. Boston Celtics Receive: Kevin Porter Jr., 2028 Second-Round Pick (MIA via DAL). Indiana Pacers Receive: Christian Wood, Payton Pritchard. Houston Rockets Receive: Tim Hardaway Jr., Josh Green.

This trade appears to work for every team involved except for perhaps the Indiana Pacers, who would surely be paying Christian Wood a lot more in a sign-and-trade than what he's been offered on the open market so far this summer. The Celtics might be in that same category as well, but as good as Robert Williams can be, he gets injured a lot and could have a diminished role in Boston after the arrival of Porzingis.

Dallas has already had a great offseason, especially when considering how the previous few summers have gone, but if it could turn Tim Hardaway Jr., Josh Green and a second-round pick into Buddy Hield and Williams? Well, the NBA might have to get the Executive of the Year award ready for Mavs GM Nico Harrison.
