LISTEN: Mavs' Bright Future? Recapping Green, Hardy Career Nights; Kyrie's Fit with Luka

The biggest news of the last few days has been the Dallas Mavericks trading for Kyrie Irving to pair with Luka Doncic, but youngsters Josh Green and Jaden Hardy have the franchise feeling even better about the future.

As the shock from Sunday's blockbuster trade still hasn't worn off, the Dallas Mavericks now anxiously await Kyrie Irving's debut, which could happen as soon as Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The prospect of Irving forming a nearly unstoppable dynamic offensive duo with Luka Doncic has the franchise and its fanbase excited about the immediate future. But after what happened in Salt Lake City on Monday night, the Mavs are also excited about what the long-term future could hold.

Despite being down several key players, including Doncic due to a heel contusion and Irving due to having to complete his post-trade physical, the Mavs upset the Utah Jazz with 22-year-old Josh Green and 20-year-old Jaden Hardy both putting up career-high numbers in efficient fashion. Both players scored 29 points apiece as Dallas cruised to a 124-111 win.

On this episode of the Mavs Step Back Podcast, we recap the Mavs' surprising-but-refreshing win over the Jazz, as well as expand on why Green and Hardy's performances on Monday are so important going forward. From there, we discuss what else is out there for the Mavs on the trade market, as Tim Hardaway Jr., Christian Wood and JaVale McGee could all potentially be dealt before the deadline.

Finally, we talk at length about Irving's fit next to Doncic, and we this partnership is going to work better than anyone else realizes ... at least for the rest of this season.
