Mavs Top-5 Title Odds for 2023-24 Season; Vegas Hinting at Big Trade?

The NBA championship odds for the 2023-24 season are out, and to everyone's surprise, the Dallas Mavericks are tied for the fourth-best odds.

Less than 24 hours off the Denver Nuggets winning their first NBA championship, the betting odds for the 2024 NBA Finals favorites are already out, and the Dallas Mavericks, despite not making the Play-In Tournament this year, find themselves in a favorable position.

According to BetOnline.ag, the Mavs are currently tied for the fourth-best 2024 NBA Title odds with the Phoenix Suns at 9/1.

Wait, so you’re telling us this current Dallas roster has the fourth-best title odds? What do the oddsmakers know that all of us don't?

Of course, these odds are likely set under the assumption that the Mavericks will indeed re-sign Kyrie Irving once free agency kicks off, but they also could be projecting that the Dallas front office will make another sizable move to upgrade their roster around Luka Doncic and company. After all, Irving has reached out to LeBron James in an attempt to recruit him to Dallas, and James reportedly said he would “think about it.”

We saw what this current roster looked like after Irving was acquired, though, and it isn’t enough to be a title contender.

Maybe BetOnline.ag saw the recent photos of Doncic posing with a fan, where he looked to be in the best shape he's been in since being a member of the Mavericks, and is betting on an MVP run for Dallas' superstar.

Regardless, this current make-up of the Mavericks roster doesn't necessarily scream title contenders, but not many people thought the same for the Miami Heat, who climbed their way from the No. 8 seed to the NBA Finals this year.

If the offseason comes to a close and Dallas still enters the 2023-24 season with the fourth-best odds to win the title, expect to see a much-improved roster.
