Mavs, Wings Announce Historic Multi-Year Partnership

In this story:
On Sunday, the WNBA's Dallas Wings announced a multi-year partnership with the Dallas Mavericks, which will include a Mavericks-sponsored patch on the Wings' uniforms.
The sponsorship with the Mavs is through Girls Empowered by Mavericks, which focuses to inspire young women between the ages of 9-14 with the use of physical activity to help in their development. The GEM initiative helps to guide success within young females through programs such as education, financial literacy, both mental and physical health, and sports.

With this partnership, the Wings become the first WNBA organization to sign this kind of direct partnership with an NBA franchise that has a differing ownership group. This alliance will provide basketball camps, health and wellness clinics presented by UT Southwestern, financial empowerment courses presented by TIAA, and a number of workshops focused around leadership, inclusion, and academics.
"The Dallas Mavericks are proud to work alongside our local WNBA team, the Dallas Wings, to further the empowerment of young girls in North Texas," said Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall. "We see GEM participants as the talent pool to represent future women in sports, business and other careers, and we are emboldened to move the needle towards female representation and equality."
The Wings will sport their new uniforms with the GEM patch starting in today's game against the Chicago Sky.
