NBA Trade Odds: Mavs Top 5 for Warriors' Andrew Wiggins Deal?

The Dallas Mavericks have already been listed as the betting-odds favorite for a Pascal Siakam trade with the Toronto Raptors, and now they're listed as having top-5 odds for an Andrew Wiggins deal with the Golden State Warriors as well.

Over the last few weeks, the Dallas Mavericks have been linked to several players ahead of the Feb. 8 trade deadline. Whether it has been through actual reports, betting odds or mere speculation, names like Toronto Raptors' Pascal Siakam, Portland Trail Blazers' Jerami Grant and others have been names that make sense for Dallas to pursue.

Last week, the Mavs were listed as having the top betting odds for a Siakam trade, and this week, according to Bovada, Dallas has the fifth-best odds to land Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins at +600. The Atlanta Hawks have the top odds at +200, followed by the Chicago Bulls at +225, the Raptors at +275 and the Cleveland Cavaliers at +290.

We've already discussed the potential fit for Wiggins in Dallas here at DallasBasketball.com, and we've even lobbed up the idea of the Mavs perhaps taking in controversial forward Draymond Green fresh off his second suspension of the season in addition to Wiggins.

To say Wiggins is having a down season might be an understatement. He quite possibly could be having the worst season of his 10-year career so far, averaging a career-low 11.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting just 42.5 percent from the field and a career-low 29.4 percent from deep.

Whoever ends up trading for Wiggins will need to be confident that a change of scenery is all he needs to snap back into being the player that helped Golden State win it's fourth title in eight years in 2022 – especially when considering that he has three years remaining on his contract after this season for a total of $84 million.

There have been no formal reports linking the Mavs to Wiggins yet, but given the team's need for frontcourt upgrades, it wouldn't be a shock if one pops up between now and the deadline. In the meantime, we'll be keeping a closer eye on the Siakam situation, which would be better for the Mavs long-term if it ends up going their way.
