Giannis Antetokounmpo is no stranger to Kevin Durant. He was a toe away from being sent out of the second round by him but ultimately prevailed as the victor over the Nets. After the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, Giannis was asked about his thoughts in regard to Kevin Durant's trade to the Phoenix Suns.

The first thought that went through Giannis' mind is how much easier it's going to be in the eastern conference without Kevin Durant. Going through Kevin Durant was typically an inevitability for Giannis and the Bucks, but now it'll only potentially be in the NBA Finals.

"Obviously, KD is one of best players in the league, he's been playing incredible," Giannis said. "Not having a guy like that, that doesn't necessarily make your road to win a championship easier, you still have to be able to win games. You can not put your guard, you gotta keep your guard up and be ready to compete because there are so many good teams in the east that want a chance to go to the finals. We want to be the one that goes to the finals."

Giannis joked that although he's a competitor, he's going to love seeing Kevin Durant only twice a year instead of the usual three or four times.

"I always wish everybody the best, obviously, we competed and see Brooklyn 3 or 4 times per year, him being there in the west, we'll only see him twice. That's good. That's good. As I said, he's one of the best players in the league. The less you kinda face him, the better. But at the end of the day, I like to compete, I like to take a challenge."

The Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets only faced off one time in the playoffs throughout Durant's short tenure with the team. Unfortunately for Brooklyn, Giannis came out on top and eventually won an NBA Championship that year. It will forever be one of the biggest what-if moments in NBA history.
