NBA Legend Throws Shade at Nikola Jokic

Dwight Howard believes his prime is better than Jokic's prime.

Dwight Howard was one of the greatest centers to ever play the game of basketball. His name has been long forgotten when it comes to lists of greatest centers of all time, and he's tired of the disrespect - even if it's at the expense of Nikola Jokic.

In an interview with Zion Olojede of Complex, Dwight Howard explained why he believes his prime is better than Nikola Jokic's prime.

"Because I'm getting old," Dwight Howard said on fans forgetting his prime. "But I know that in my prime. it's a wrap. It's a wrap... I'm Dwight Howard. I know what I've done in this league... all-time centers, I'm top 10."

Jokic is one of the greatest offensive basketball players in NBA history, breaking records left and right, but Howard believes that's simply because Jokic has more opportunity.

"Obviously, people going to say Jokic can score," Howard said. "He got all those offensive skills. But at the same time, I was getting 38 and 20, 45-18, 19, 20, and I'm doing all this with twos. No threes, all twos. I'm doing this with lobs. I'm not getting a lot of post-up attempts like Jokic. He's getting way more opportunities I would say as far as to show his low post game and all that stuff. And I was just in a different era."

Howard wasn't necessarily hating on Jokic, and even gave him his props in the interview. He even called Jokic one of the greatest centers to ever play the game of basketball.

"And no offense, I think he's great," Howard said. "I love Jokic. I don't want people to think that I'm trying to hate even comparing, but I'm going to take myself. I know how dominant I was and I know what I could do with my skills. And on the defensive end and on the offensive end I was quick enough to get past everybody."

In all honesty, Dwight Howard is one of the most disrespected players in NBA history. He should have easily been in the NBA 75 list over a player like Damian Lillard. Dwight Howard is right to feel disrespected because he has been, it's just unfortunate that it came at the expense of Nikola Jokic.
