NBA Legend Unleashes Wild Anthony Davis vs. Nikola Jokic Take

Can Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis get on Jokic's level?

Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis is often compared to other dominant big men in the NBA. While his overall game has very few holes, Davis is undoubtedly a tier below Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid, and Giannis Antetokounmpo. With a skillset like the one he possesses, many claim it's simply a mentality issue for Davis that keeps him from the level those aforementioned bigs are on.

While it's possible that Davis could benefit from a more assertive mindset, some take this conversation too far by claiming that he can simply flip a switch and be on the level of players like Jokic, Embiid, and Antetokounmpo. This may have been the case a few seasons ago, but as all of those players have elevated their games to an MVP level, Davis has not.

During a recent segment of Showtime Basketball's KG Certified, NBA legend Kevin Garnett said that Anthony Davis can do everything that Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic can do. Garnett added that he expects Davis to win an MVP award in the next two seasons.

"I'm expecting Anthony Davis to be MVP in these next two years," Garnett said. "It's time, bro. It's time. You can't let [Jokic] come in the league and surpass - Nah. Anthony Davis can do everything they can do. Anthony Davis can do everything [Jokic] can do, he can do everything Embiid can do... I'm expecting him to be MVP if not this year, definitely next year."

While Davis is very talented, and one of the best big men in basketball, this is simply not true. There is not another player in the NBA who can do "everything" that Jokic can do, which was evident when he became the first player in NBA history to lead an entire postseason run in total points, assists, and rebounds.
