Nikola Jokic Breaks Incredible LeBron James Record
While the Denver Nuggets suffered a disappointing loss to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night, Nikola Jokic made history. Reaching 13,000 points for his career, Jokic became the youngest player in NBA history to record at least 13,000 points, 6,000 rebounds, and 4,000 assists.
Reaching these marks before his 29th birthday, Jokic broke LeBron James' record, who was previously the youngest player to reach these marks, doing so at 29 years and 82 days old.
Passing LeBron James on any list is a big deal, but especially any list related to age. James is the youngest player to almost every major NBA statistical milestone, as his dominance in the league began at age 19. Not many players have entered the league that young and that good, but James is of course the exception to a lot of things when it comes to his greatness.
Jokic's combination of scoring ability, playmaking ability, and dominance on the glass is one of the biggest reasons he is the best player in the world right now. Nobody can boast proficiency in all three of those categories the way Jokic can, which was on full display last postseason when he became the first player in NBA history to lead a playoff run in total points, rebounds, and assists.
While it was a tough loss for Denver on Wednesday, Jokic made history again.
