How does a player improve after winning Finals MVP and breaking countless records on the way? For Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic, that improvement has to come in unique ways. According to head coach Michael Malone, his challenge for Jokic this season is to grow in his vocal leadership.

"I think that the greatest challenge for Nikola is to continue to find ways to be a leader, to be more vocal," Malone said on media day. "I never tell Nikola to go home and work on his lefty jump hook. [For a] few years, it was growing up, handling adversity, getting in better shape, getting stronger, and he's a two-time MVP, he's a world champion. But there's always room for growth... I want Jamal and Nikola to take ownership of his team."

More of a leader by example than a vocal leader, Jokic can continue to grow in this area as he gets older. People often forget Jokic is still relatively young, as is Jamal Murray, so there can certainly still be growth for both of those players.

It's a scary thought for the rest of the NBA that Jokic and the rest of the Nuggets may still have room for improvement. Even if this comes in ways that aren't always visible in the box score, this Nuggets team could still reach another level.
