The Denver Nuggets announced multiple transactions on Friday. In an official press release, the team announced that Amida Brimah, Au’Diese Toney, and Jamorko Pickett have been signed to deals, while Armaan Franklin, Andrew Funk, and Souley Boum have been waived. In their official announcement, Denver wrote the following:

"The Denver Nuggets have signed center Amida Brimah, forward Au’Diese Toney and Jamorko Pickett to contracts, General Manager Calvin Booth announced today. In a related move, the team has also requested waivers on Armaan Franklin, Andrew Funk and Souley Boum."

The team also included information on the three new signings, who will join the team as they finish out their preseason schedule. The three waived players will likely join the Nuggets' G-League affiliate, which is where the newly signed players will likely end up as well.

It's not uncommon for teams to sign players to training camp deals before waiving them and taking a look at other players in those spots. While the ultimate outcome for these players is almost always a G-League spot, making a strong impression on the organization can lead to bigger opportunities down the line when such openings present themselves.

For now, the Nuggets will be taking a look at Amida Brimah, Au’Diese Toney, and Jamorko Pickett after waiving Armaan Franklin, Andrew Funk, and Souley Boum. With the season around the corner, Denver wants to see what they have in these new players.
