Nikola Jokic Can Make Unprecedented NBA History in Game 5

It has been a historically great postseason run for Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic, and there is one more unprecedented bit of history he can make in Game 5 vs. the Miami Heat. Entering this closeout game leading the playoffs in total points, rebounds, and assists, Jokic can become the first player in NBA history to lead a playoff run in all three categories.

Jokic has the postseason lead in assists and rebounds wrapped up already, but enters Game 5 just one point ahead of Jimmy Butler for the lead in total points. While Jokic has played two less game than Butler, he still needs to at least match points with the Heat star in Game 5 in order to secure this unprecedented bit of history. This of course assumes the Nuggets close out Miami in Game 5, and there isn't another game for Butler and Jokic to accumulate points.

Of all the records Jokic has broken this postseason, securing this one in a potential close out effort would be arguably the most impressive. While Jokic is not concerned with individual accolades, leading an entire postseason run in points, assists, and rebounds has never been done for a reason. A player with the ability to dominate with their scoring, rebounding, and passing the way Jokic has this postseason is truly unprecedented.
